The sling is durable and not affected by extremes of moisture, temperature, or by exposure to hard or sharp objects. It is also radiolucent, MRI safe, and cleans for re-use with common detergents or anti-microbial solutions. The SAM Pelvic Sling II is a force-controlled circumferential pelvic belt that safely and effectively reduces and stabilizes open-book pelvic fractures. It is designed to avoid over- or under-tightening pelvic fractures during the critical "golden hour" following severe trauma. With three easy steps, the sling is easy to use and can be applied in less than a minute. The patented Autostop buckle is programmed to stop your pull once the correct compression force has been obtained. Two prongs are released from the buckle to stop further tightening, and an audible "click" confirms correct application.
